Rocky Mountain Care - Logan
Requested October 2024
1480 N 400 E, Logan
Skilled Nursing and Rehab Facility
Looking for monthly visits any day in the early afternoon or evening
Goals for the program state, "I believe that ITA should conduct monthly visits at our skilled nursing facility to significantly enhance the emotional and physical well-being of our residents. Many of our residents are battling serious illness and often feel isolated from the world around them. I've witnessed firsthand how a simple visit from a pet can lighten up their faces and bring a moment of joy to their day. Animal-assisted therapy has been shown to reduce anxiety, improve mood, and foster social interaction, which is especially beneficial for those facing the challenges of aging or illness.
Regular visits from therapy animals can provide our residents with comfort, companionship, and a renewed sense of purpose, encouraging them to engage more fully with their surroundings and each other. Additionally, the presence of therapy animals can stimulate memories and promote conversation, creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere that enhances the overall quality of life in our facility.
As someone who is training in recreational therapy, I have seen the incredible impact animal therapy can have on individuals like those I work with. I would love to offer our residents similar experiences in a more structured and therapeutic way. Thank you for considering our facility for these invaluable visits; I truly believe they would make a meaningful difference in our residents' lives."
